This page provides information about the research project Honors in Europe, which is carried out under supervision of Dr. Marca Wolfensberger at the Research Centre for Talent Development in Higher Education and Society at Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
This project has led to different products:
- The book Talent Development in European Higher Education: The Benelux, Nordic and German-speaking countries by Dr. Marca Wolfensberger.

An extensive review was published in the journal Honors in Higher Education. - Five international masterclass in the series Thinking, creating and networking in honorshave now been held.
- The article Slow Shift - Developing Provisions for Talented Students in Scandinavian Higher Education by Marca Wolfensberger and Maarten Hogenstijn was published in the open access journal Education Sciences (Sept 2016)
- A brochure with practical advice for honors educators, based on the book's contents. This brochure is now available in English, German and Dutch
This network was opened for membership in June 2016.
As a next step in the research project, focus shifts to provisions for talented students in Southern Europe.
